Compress Images Without Uploading

Use a local 1,000KB preset with a maximum 2,000px dimension, or choose another built-in or saved custom preset. The browser reads, resizes and exports the image on this device.

Preset settings are stored only in this browser.

Input formats: JPG · PNG · HEIC · AVIF* · WEBP · BMP* · ICO* · GIF · SVG

* Marked formats depend on this device's browser codecs.

Private: one or many images stay on your device. The server receives no file.

How local image compression works

  1. Open the tool and choose one or more images from the device.
  2. Keep the 1,000KB and 2,000px local preset or select a different preset.
  3. Run compression and review the locally generated size and dimensions.
  4. Download the result; save or delete a custom preset in this browser as needed.

Image processing that runs in your browser

After you choose a file, browser image APIs decode its pixels into local memory, draw the resized result and encode the download. The compressor does not send the image file to a processing endpoint. Small analytics or error events can be separate and contain no image bytes.

Private local preset

The default limits an image to 1,000KB and a maximum dimension of 2,000px while preserving its aspect ratio. Format, dimensions and KB target remain editable, and a custom preset can be stored in this browser's local storage.

A local download with a verifiable size

The result is exposed through a temporary browser URL and can be downloaded directly to your device. The page reports source size, output size, dimensions and target status so you can verify the outcome before using it.

Useful for

Local does not mean no network activity at all

The web page and its code still have to load, and small usage events may be sent separately. They do not contain the image file. Browser memory also limits very large inputs, and clearing site data removes a saved custom preset.

FAQ

Is the image file sent to a server?

No. The compressor reads and exports the image in the browser. Separate lightweight usage events may occur, but they contain neither the file nor its pixels.

Where is my custom preset stored?

Its numeric settings and name are stored in this browser's local storage. The image itself is never part of the saved preset.

Can I use the tool offline?

Once the required page and code are available in the browser cache, processing itself does not require an image upload. A first visit and some page features can still require a connection.
